She then continued her career with a move to KPMG. She was involved in both the management of transactions and the production of due diligence reports on a variety of targets and companies on behalf of banks, private equity businesses and corporate clients. Olivia then moved to a role as a Commercial Finance manager for one of the clients she had worked for, whilst employed at KPMG. This role involved providing financial support to each of four trading teams and allowed her to see the factors faced from within a business rather than carrying out a review as an external body.
Following a career break of several years to allow her to spend time with her two young children, Olivia has returned to work as our Senior Commercial Finance Manager.
Her two fabulous children, good friends, going to the gym, body boarding and drinking wine.

She is now responsible for preparing all our legal investment packs, dealing with the FCA, issuing shares certificates and handling all legal paperwork. Diane initially started her career as a medical secretary and progressed into a P.A. Office and Building Manager role for a number of large blue chip companies, before joining the property field some nine years ago when she set up and managed a franchised letting agency before being head hunted by a property developer, to oversee a multi million pound residential property portfolio, which included refurbishing some exclusive properties in London.
Diane joined THC and her role is Executive Assistant to Frazer and Office Manager.
Her daughter…..she means the world to Diane, her sports bike and days out with my motorbike buddies, weekends away, relaxing with a glass of wine…white or red it does not matter! Good food but especially chunky chips…the thicker the better. High heels which she refuses to be separated from.
Harley Davidsons, her daughter's messy bedroom, sitting in a car park on the motorway, music she can't dance to and having to dye her hair because I have to not because I want to!
James Dearsley Digital Marketing Director
Having spent 11 years directly involved in the Real Estate Industry, both in UK domestic estate agency and overseas development, James turned his hand to the world of digital marketing; believing it to be the future.
Demystifying the complexities of data whilst putting a personal bias to all marketing is core to his beliefs. Making data, and thus crowdfunding, friendly is central to elements of some of the processes at The House Crowd.
Sadly the data doesn't stack up in his love of Queens Park Rangers FC but that is another story.
Beekeeping, all sport – both watching and participating, technology (especially virtual reality and artificial intelligence) and being the father of 2, the husband of 1.
Technology not working, phone chargers and gone off milk.
Jackie Ryder Admin Assistant
Jackie is a mum of one boy, a daughter, a sister and an auntie. Her first job was for a bank in London where she worked her way through branch and corporate relationship banking before joining the cheque processing projects group. She learned all about running projects and then took a job as a process consultant. A bit of travel and consulting in the UK followed before having her baby boy, and then a move to Manchester and a career break followed in quick succession. Before joining THC she was the manager of a website shop.
Her boy, Starbucks, walking with the dog in the rain and not caring about getting wet, a night out with her besties (doesn't happen often enough), going on holiday when she can sit and read her kindle, visiting her niece and nephew in SoCal, confusing Suhail by using Glaswegian slang.
Her boy (at times), messy kitchens, having to put her kindle down at a good bit in the story, being in a hurry, dog-eared paper, utility companies.
Emma Lakin Senior Property Manager and Social Responsibility Officer
Emma started her career as a fundraiser for Cancer Research Campaign. After 3 years of successful fundraising. She was then promoted to Mobile Area Manager a role she enjoyed for 7 years, before deciding to strike out on her own and start her own cafe and catering business. It went well for 6 years but unfortunately she broke her wrist (doing a back flip!!!) which ended her days of chopping and peeling.
She entered the property industry by chance as a part-timer at a well-known local agency but displayed great aptitude for it and after 3 months was offered a full time position as the maintenance manager. A year later she also took on the role as the marketing & office manager. After 4 years she left the company to help set up a new agency as the senior property manager and was working there when The House Crowd headhunted her. Emma is also our SRO - Social Responsibility Officer -and is in charge of arranging fundraising activity for selected charities in Manchester. Favourite quote – History shows that no business survives when it puts its own interests ahead of staff and customers.
Her 2 beautiful children, good food, drink and conversation! Walking her dogs, keeping fit, especially dancing the night away!! Laughing as much as possible, releases serotonin (needed in this job)
Automated services, express check outs, reality TV shows. Tenants who don’t pay rent!!
Jacqui Hewitt Book keeping / Finance
Jacqui is our company bookkeeper and looks after all the House Crowd related companies (that's quite a few) as well as supplying Lewis with chocolate when he starts displaying withdrawal symptoms. She is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren (we know – she doesn't look that old!) and has worked in Finance for 20 years for a variety of organisations including several property related companies. For the last 7 years, before joining The House Crowd, she was Finance Manager for a fast growing company involved in managing government energy saving schemes.
Time spent with her family particularly her grandchildren. Tennis, Pilates, going for long walks with her husband and being by the sea in sunshine.
Tea, Birds (very scary), dark winter evenings.
Bill Anthony Non Exec Chairman
Bill has worked in the Financial Services industry most of his career, starting off in branch lending at HSBC before embarking on a 14 investment career with 3i Group plc where he was ultimately responsible for managing a £1bn portfolio. This last role meant overseeing literally hundreds of exits, the largest of which was £300M.
His experience encompasses all types and stages of business, performance levels and management styles and includes two IPOs. Since leaving 3i and starting his own consultancy, he has coached a number of high growth SMEs and sits as a Board Non-executive on two technology companies, one of which has raised finance via crowdfunding.

The fun part of being a father of 5, Junior Football (as not as stressful as watching Liverpool!), good wine, good food, good coffee and good company; oh and any extreme sport that his wife will let him do!!
The messy jobs of being a father of 5, (not that he has done much of it according to his wife), Insomnia and Dad's Taxis!!
Michele Baker Content Strategist
Michele has over ten years’ experience in digital marketing, much to her surprise. She started out, fresh from her MA in Creative Writing, with the ambition of writing great literature, gazing off into the sunset, and contemplating the complexities of existence. Instead, she became embroiled in the heady world of web content, which she found to her liking, and has been creating great content ever since.
Her work has brought Michele a range of expertise in different industries, from Travel, Health and Wellbeing, and Technology, to… well… Property Investment. However, when she steps away from the desk, it’s all about hanging out with her daughter and beloved dog, Billy. When she’s not running around after those two, she spends her time gardening, reading, drinking far too much tea (a little milk and no sugar, please!) and – in theory – writing stories.
Her wonderfully kooky, smart and creative daughter; her similarly kooky but much less smart, super cuddly staffie, Billy; hot summers; a good vinyl collection, and a house full of books.
Spiders, the wind, the hellishly invasive noise of television, and non-dog lovers.
Nigel Beverley Client Account Manager
Nigel’s role is to assist all clients and prospective clients with questions they have about our investments. Nigel started off his career in the Manchester music scene training as a sound engineer at the famous Strawberry Recording Studios working with the likes of The Smiths, James and New Order. He left eventually to join a band and tour around the U.K. But world rock star status wasn’t meant to be, so the time came eventually for him to get a ‘proper job’.
He has a wealth of experience in client and account management, his proudest being fifteen years in the glamorous (and not so glamorous) world of Premier League Football sponsorship which has involved him in the successful client activation of all of the Premier League title sponsors. He was dedicated to making sure clients received the maximum benefit from their investment in a professional but friendly way and he brings his valuable experience of dealing with a broad range of clients to his role at The House Crowd.

Ken has tried a variety of sports and interests over the years, with a current focus on cycling and squash (although time pressures have meant he thinks about these more than he actually participates). He has also been involved in rowing, kickboxing, rock climbing and sailing to varying degrees.
