Hear hear to the “National Empty Homes Loans Fund”

It was music to our ears this week, to hear in the news that The National Empty Homes Loans fund will be launched later this year, offering low interest loans to owners of empty homes to help bring these properties back to life and into use as affordable housing.

The loans fund emerged in light of Channels 4’s ‘Great British Property Scandal’ campaign, fronted by architect and independent Empty Homes Adviser George Clarke.

With a nationwide council house waiting list of over four million people, and recent reports suggesting a housing shortage will create a generation of under 30s renters, the loans fund will be available to pay for any refurbishment works needed to bring empty properties back to life and into the hands of those who need them the most.

At The House Crowd we are staunch supporters of George Clarke’s campaign to get the 900,000+ empty properties in the UK back into action. The House Crowd focuses on purchasing empty properties, and has already raised approximately £360,000 for 6 purchases of empty properties.

Our method requires investment in order to do this and our transparency in what we do is there for all to see at www.http://thehousecrowd.com/thehousecrowd//property-investments.  We raise funds through a crowdfunding approach and those who contribute to the project will see a return on their investment.

The House Crowd is a brand new concept in property investment which allows people to invest small amounts via crowdfunding (for more information on the process, visit www.http://thehousecrowd.com/thehousecrowd//how-it-works/). We are committed to breathing life into empty, rundown properties whilst giving investors great returns on their investments (for more information about us, visit www.http://thehousecrowd.com/thehousecrowd//about/our-manifesto/).
