Team Captain: Frazer Fearnhead

Frazer started his career as a lawyer in the music industry.  He has been investing in property since 1994 and helping others to           invest in property since 2001. He is an award winning entrepreneur (North West Development Agency Startup of the Year 2006), founder of The Armchair Property Investor and of The House Crowd, the world’s first crowdfunding platform for property investment.

He has contributed articles to the Investor’s Chronicle, Residential Property Investor, This is Money and The Guardian  and is often interviewed by the media about crowdfunding and property investment (please see our press page for more information).

Loves: animals, tennis, backgammon, scuba diving, great writers, good food and wine.

Dislikes: Red tape, celebrity culture (what happened to being                         talented), being boring.

Chief House Hunter: Suhail Nawaz

Suhail has an MBA and is a surveyor with 20 years experience in sourcing, developing and renting property. Over that time, he has experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of property investment. Frazer and Suhail have been friends since school.

Loves: his family, Liverpool FC, old school hip hop, sleeping, good food, cigars and animals.

Dislikes: getting out of bed early and Frazer (who makes him get out of bed early).

Chief Geek and Website Manager: Clarissa Fearnhead

Clarissa has a background working on UNIX systems as a senior systems manager for various investment banks. In 2004 she had the extreme good fortune to marry Frazer (who coincidentally wrote this page!) and has since worked alongside him managing websites, IT, admin, social media (and generally being his extremely valued right hand woman) for various companies they have been involved with including The Armchair Property Investor, Braemar Group plc and The Video Inventory Agency.

Loves: Yoga, animals (especially cats – see below), libraries, crime fiction, excessive amounts of coconut water, e-baying.

Dislikes: motorways, football, not getting coffee in bed in the morning, people who don’t like animals, her idiot husband getting drunk, her hair in this photo.

Director: John Houghton

John came across Frazer and the Armchair Property Investor in 2006 whilst building his own property portfolio. Upon learning about The House Crowd he decided to invest in the business. John  has 16 years experience of business development, helping grow Enterprise Rent-A-Car from one location to the UK’s leading rental company.   John will transfer his car purchasing and rental knowledge to provide governance and independent views to the property purchasing and rental market.

Loves: The fun part of being a father of 5, Junior Football (as not as stressful as watching Liverpool!), good wine, good food, good coffee and good company; oh and any extreme sport that his wife will let him do!!

Dislikes: The messy jobs of being a father of 5, (not that he has done much of it according to his wife), Insomnia and Dad’s Taxis!!

Director: Simeon Barnes

Simeon has extensive skill and experience in growing companies from ideas in to profitable, successful businesses. He implements best practice into everything he does and brings a wealth of sales and management experience to The House Crowd.

Loves: Being a dad, lifting weights, stupid cars and laughing.

Dislikes: Indecision, flakiness, dishonesty, bullies and Income Tax.

PR Guy: Gareth Clements

Gareth has a passion for people and transferred his previous career as a detective, to the more positive aspect of dealing with folk; as well as establishing Rumpus as one of Manchester’s leading PR agencies.

Loves: cooking, skiing, winners, dolphins, Liverpool Football Club, Guinness, chance and his two wonderful kids (oh, and his wife, Nikki as well).

Dislikes: excuses, small yappy dogs, instant coffee, people who live in the past.

Brand Manager: Paul Evans

Paul is a creative thinker and can spot the ‘opportunity’, educated in Business & Marketing he has experience in buying, brand management and communication.  He loves nothing more than creating a good strategy document and seeing the results for his clients at Rumpus.

Loves: Things that are not good for the waistline, Bill Shankly, horse racing, San Francisco, markets, success stories, spaghetti westerns, Bob Dylan, cubism, and real ale.

Dislikes: Soaps, bad service, spam, negativity, gloomy raining days.

Chief Project Manager: Alex Reed

Alex had worked with Suhail for over 10 years before joining the House Crowd team. He’s usually out getting his hands dirty on cold building sites whilst we are in our nice warm office. Respect to the Alex.

Likes: Sports bikes, American cars, football, nights out ,takeaways.

Dislikes: paying tax bills, paying bar bills.

 

And last, but not least, The House Crowd Cats, doing their bit to help in their own furry little way.
